How To Purchase a Portrait
Having a custom portrait created is easy. You simply need to provide the appropriate photograph(s), either prints or digital images.
Homes/camps
For homes and camps, a photo showing the front and one side works the best. You will want to capture the best scenic view surrounding your home/camp as well.
People
For people, use photos that are clear. do not use photos that are lit from the front; these wash out the facial features. Photos taken from a slight angle show the unique features of the face. They should be taken at eye level.
Special additions such as instruments, books, or other props can add interest to the portrait giving it personality. Head, neck and shoulder to mid torso shots, work well. Complete figures work well if the desired effect is to show the person doing something, a ballerina for example. These types of portraits would usually include a background as well.
Additional people can be added into one portrait as well as pets with an additional charge for each figure added.
Pets
Pets can be photographed in a variety of ways. Try to show the head neck and shoulders with the pet looking slightly off to one side. This helps to show the definition of the neck and nose areas.
The pet’s entire body may also be shown if desired. Sometimes it is preferable to show the animal in it’s natural setting, a horse in it’s pasture or a dog on the hunt, for example.
Combinations
Combinations of people and pets are also available. They may be completed from separate photos which will be combined into one piece of art work. Keep in mind that these work best for larger portraits with no more than three subjects.
All photos will be returned.
